Now running on sunshine ☀️
Melting and fusing glass is an energy-intense process. It typically involves at least two, sometimes up to three or four carefully timed firings in a kiln at temperatures of up to 900° C / 1500° degrees F, hence the term “kiln-fired glass”.
We are proud to announce that we installed solar cells and a Tesla PowerWall2 battery system to utilise the powerful Australian sunshine and reduce our carbon footprint of our studio!
UPDATE:
Our studio has since moved into a larger building and is only partially powered by solar cells.
